Changing the default splash screen image on a UX700
The splash screen is the image a Verifone UX700 displays while it sits idle, waiting to take a payment. Replace it from the Stripe Dashboard to put your own branding on every UX700 in the fleet.
The image belongs to a configuration, not to an individual reader, and each reader model is set separately. The Default configuration on the All locations row covers every UX700 on the account. A configuration attached to one location overrides that default for the readers registered there, and a location without its own configuration inherits the account default.
Note: Splash screens are configured in the Stripe Dashboard, not in AMP. Every change described here is made there, so you need sign-in access to the Stripe account that owns the readers before you start.
Business decision: Set the image on the account default when every site carries the same branding. Set it on a location configuration when one site runs its own promotion or its own brand. Both can exist at once, and the location setting wins.
Setting the account default splash screen
To replace the splash screen on every UX700 in the fleet, follow these steps:
Enter terminal in the Dashboard search bar and select Terminal > Manage Locations.
Find the All locations row on the Manage locations page. This row carries the Default configuration that every reader inherits.
Select the overflow menu at the end of that row, then select Edit configuration.
Scroll to Personalization and select Edit beside Splash screen.
Select Verifone UX700 from Choose device. The panel then lists the image size and file limits for that model.
Select Upload new and choose your image file. A preview of the new screen appears beside the picker.
Follow the prompts to save the setting.
Note: On a location configuration the button beside Splash screen reads Override rather than Edit, and everything after that point is identical. Readers do not update the moment you apply the change. Allow about ten minutes for the new image to reach them.
Image requirements
Size the file to 720 x 1280, the UX700 screen resolution, before you upload it. Stripe does not scale a JPG or PNG to fit.
JPG and PNG files must be under 2 MB and cropped to 720 x 1280.
GIF files must be under 4 MB and scale to the screen automatically.
Note: A GIF under 4 MB can still fail to upload. Cut the frame count roughly in half and try again, repeating until the upload succeeds.
This covers the UX700 only. If you add a different reader model later, it needs its own upload and keeps showing whatever it displayed before.
