What Are SMS Automated Replies?

SMS Automated Replies allow your car wash to automatically respond to customer text messages based on specific keywords or phrases.

This feature helps your site communicate quickly and efficiently with customers — whether to provide information, answer common questions, or direct them to support. Automated replies are triggered by the customer’s text message and sent instantly by the system.


Where to Find SMS Automated Replies

To access this feature, navigate to:
Portal → Marketing → SMS Automated Replies

On this page, you’ll see a list of all existing SMS Automated Replies currently set up for your site.

  • To view older or inactive replies, select “Is Active” to include those in your view.


How to Set Up a New SMS Automated Reply

To create a new automated reply, click New SMS Automated Reply in the top-right corner.

1. Trigger Phrase
The Trigger Phrase is the word or phrase that activates the automated reply.
When a customer sends a message containing this phrase, the system recognizes it and automatically sends your predefined reply.

Example:

  • Trigger Phrase: HELP

  • If a customer texts the word “HELP,” the system will automatically send your configured response message.

💡 Tip: Choose short and clear trigger phrases that customers are likely to use, such as HELP, STOP, WASH, or INFO.


2. Search Method: Contain or Exact
This setting determines how precisely the customer’s message must match the trigger phrase.

  • Contain: The system will trigger the reply if the customer’s message includes the trigger phrase anywhere in the text.

    • Example: If your trigger phrase is “HELP,” a message like “I need HELP please” will trigger the reply.

  • Exact: The system will only trigger the reply if the customer’s message exactly matches the trigger phrase.

    • Example: Only the message “HELP” (with no other words) will trigger the reply.


3. Reply Message
This is the message that will automatically be sent back to the customer once the trigger phrase is detected.

Example:

  • Trigger Phrase: HELP

  • Reply: Please contact AMP Support at 800-AMP-SUPPORT for assistance.
