Coupons can be created and managed in the portal under Coupon Management. These can be applied to purchases in the app, and user subscriptions in the portal.
IMPORTANT: Coupons, Promo Codes, and Coupon Groups should no longer be created in Stripe moving forward to maintain data integrity.
Coupon Creation
In the portal, navigate to Marketing > Coupon Management.
Click New Coupon.
Enter a Name for the coupon.
Use the Discount Type dropdown and select Amount Off or Percentage.
Indicate the discount or percentage off, e.g., 25% off or $10 off.
Set the Duration of the coupon.
(1) Forever - discount will apply until the subscription is canceled.
(2) Once - discount will apply for a single invoice.
(3) Repeating - discount will span the number of months set, e.g., 6 months.
Review the settings and click Create Coupon.
Coupon Configuration
After clicking Create Coupon, the portal will direct you to the page to set up the coupon.
Scroll down the the Redemption Restrictions section and select the Type of coupon.
(1) Add On - discounts specified add-ons.
(2) Wash Type - used for discounting single retail washes.
(3) Retail Invoice - discounts the entire
(4) All Subscriptions - used for discounting subscriptions.
(5) Subscription Signups - used for new subscriptions only.
(6) Subscription Legacy POS Migrations - used only for plans that are migrated from a legacy POS.
Note: (2) Wash Type and (4) All Subscriptions are the most commonly used options as they cover a wide range of use cases.
Specify the Role of who can redeem this coupon.
The permissions cascade down by level, meaning all access levels from the selected Role and “up” can apply this coupon.
Admin > CSR > Site Lead > Attendant > None (standard customer app user)
Specify the general restrictions for the coupon.
Subscription Coupons:
Limit the coupon redemptions to specific Plans or Prices. The Term(s) field acts as a filter for selection options in the Prices field.
Selecting All for Plans means that no restriction will be applied based on Plan; All for Price means that no restriction will be applied based on Price.
Wash Type & Add-On Coupons:
Limit to specific Washes or Add-Ons as desired/applicable, or select All.
Set Location Restrictions.
The Location dropdown can be used to restrict the coupon usage to specific sites if needed. Selecting All means there will be no restrictions set for location.
Set Price Groups Restrictions.
Specify Price Group limitations if desired or select All. Selecting All means that no restriction will be applied based on Price Group.
Specify Usage Restrictions.
(1) Max User Redemptions - limits how many times the same user account can redeem the coupon.
(2) Max Vehicle Redemptions - limits how many times the same vehicle can redeem the coupon.
(3) Max Device Redemptions - limits how many times the same device can redeem the coupon.
Coupon Groups are used to count max redemption limits to any other coupons that share the same group.
Promo Code Setup
Navigate to the Promotion Codes tab of the coupon.
Click Add Promo Code and select either Single or Bulk.
Single Promo:
Enter the code to be used and set the promo to Active.
Specify the optional promo code settings.
(1) The code can be set to have a specific number of times it can be redeemed before it is permanently archived.
(2) An expiration date that will permanently archive the promo once the date has passed.
(3) A minimum invoice value to be able to use the promo code.
After the code is created with the Create Promo Code button, there are additional settings available:
(1) Attendant Mode Dropdown Menu Item adds the code to Attendant Mode for easy application.
(2) Include a Fixed Price is only used for fixed price membership promotions, otherwise leave blank.
Bulk Promo:
(1) Specify the number of codes needed. There is a 5,000-code limit per individual creation process, but this process can be run as many times as needed.
(2) Specify a promo code suffix of at least 5 characters, as well as a promo code prefix.
(3) Add additional restrictions like # of redemptions per code (we recommend 1 per code if sending out via mailers, etc.), expiration dates, and minimum invoice value.
(4) Export codes to CSV if needed. If you do not do this export at this step, you can use the “Export to CSV” button to export the entire list of promo codes from within the coupon.
