Many AMP customers utilize the built-in free-to-play spinner game to promote app usage.

Use this guide to set up a spinner game for your organization:

  1. Load an “Arcade Banner” in the Branding > Brand Images section of the portal:

    • Recommended ratio 3:1

    • This will show in the top left of the page banner while playing either the spinner or arcade. Example below:

  2. Navigate to Games > Spinner.

  3. Click “New Spinner.”

Your new spinner page will be shown below. Use this page to build a spinner game that will be available in the app.

  4. Click here to upload the main image. This image will display when the customer clicks on the Games > Spin to Win page in the app; they click on this image to open up the spinner.

    Recommended ratio 1:1

  5. Load a wheel image. This image will be shown in the middle of the wheel (it is a circle).

The recommended ratio is 1:1 with a transparent background.
This will be a static image in the center of the spinner wheel.

  6. Fill out the form inputs:

    1. Name: Name of the game (this is internal and for reporting purposes).

    2. Emails for Win Notifications: Only relevant if you have prizes that are Prize Type "Other", so someone can make sure to award the customer with that prize.

    3. Start Text: Not required; if populated, this text will display over the spinner before the customer clicks the button to spin.

    4. Audience: limit the spinner to only members or non-members (“users”).

    5. Days between spins: Recommended to limit how often someone can spin; if you are giving out prizes, then you want to set this as at least 1 .

    6. Colors: Typically, people use their primary and secondary colors for the buttons and popups and then have borders and/or text be white or black.

    7. For event: This setting lets you geofence where the spinner game is active (e.g., if you had a grand opening and wanted to only allow people within a certain radius of the new wash to access the game). Once you check 'for event,' latitude, longitude, and radius will display to be populated.

    8. Prizes:

    Step 8.png

    • Create as many prizes as you want (click “8. Add Prize”). Each prize will be a section of the wheel with its own color, display text (“name”), and win probability.

    • Provide a “name” (Example: "Free Wash," "$10 Credit," "Try Again") and “win text” (what the customer sees if they land on that wheel section, for example: "You've won a free wash!" or "You've Won $10 in Credit!" or "Sorry, try again tomorrow!")

    • Enter a color for each prize’s wheel section (feel free to alternate between 2-3 colors or use the color spectrum to personalize the wheel to your brand.)

    • Enter a win probability for each prize – the total of all prizes should equal 100

    • Choose a prize type and credit amount. Some recommendations:

      • We recommend you have between 6-10 prizes:

      • Always select $ as the credit type when using credit as the prize type

      • Have three that have “nothing” as the prize with a total probability of 90+%

      • At least one with a prize of “spin,” which is to spin again immediately rather than wait for the days between spins you set

      • A variety of credit prizes – e.g., $5 at 1% probability, $25 at 0.1% probability, $100 at 0.01% probability

  7. Click Create Spinner to finish the process.

  8. When you are ready to go live with your spinner, activate the games menu item in the app.

    • Go to App Configurations > Menu Options > Main Menu.

    • If games are not already active on your app, click “Show inactive” at the top of the page. Otherwise, scroll to "Games."

      Step 11a.png

      • Check the “Active” checkbox.

        Step 12.png

      • Change the display title, icon, and ordinal (where this menu item will display relative to the other main menu options, 1 is first, 2 is second, etc.) as desired.

      • Click “Update Menu Option”.

  9. Review the app to see how the game looks and edit as needed. You can always turn the game off by marking the menu option as inactive. Do not delete it!
