It may sometimes be necessary to apply a coupon to a member's account.
Note: this method will apply a coupon to a customer's account, which allows a coupon to persist after cancellation of a membership. If you desire to attach a coupon to a subscription, good only for the life of that subscription, visit the following link:
To apply a coupon to an account in Stripe, follow these steps:
Navigate to the customer's account and click the Actions button (triple-dot) at the top right of the screen.
Click "Apply coupon" from the drop-down menu.
On the popup window that follows, select the desired coupon from the drop-down menu. The menu may take a few seconds to load. Searching is possible by clicking into the box and typing as shown. Coupons will need to be created in Stripe prior to application to a customer's account.
Click Submit.
The coupon will now be visible on the left-hand column under the customer's "Insights information."
Note: to remove a coupon attached to an account, hover over the coupon, and click the trash can icon, then "Remove coupon" from the following window, as shown below:
