Cancelling a Membership in the Portal - Pay Per Vehicle

This guide explores how to cancel a customer's membership and assumes your organization charges customers for memberships per vehicle, or Pay Per Vehicle.

Note: If your organization attaches memberships to the account, which would allow each membership to apply to more than one vehicle, then your organization uses a Pay Per User model, and this article will not apply.

To cancel a customer's membership, follow these steps:

  1. In the portal, navigate to Users & Accounts and click on Users.

  2. Click on Accounts, then Vehicles.

  3. To cancel the vehicle's subscription, click on the triple-dot on the left under Actions, then select Cancel Subscription.

  4. In the following pop-up, fill out the following:

    • Cancel Date - Select one of the two options:

      • Cancel immediately - immediately cuts off access to member services (Note: this does not refund or credit the customer)

      • Cancel at period end - sets plan cancellation at the natural end of the customer's billing period.

    • Reason - use this dropdown to capture why the customer is canceling (Note: this option appears in reporting and the account's comments)​

    • Comments - add a comment for your organization's records; this will appear in reporting and in the comments section of the customer's portal account.

  5. Click "Update" to finalize the cancellation.
